Payment Methods, deposits and cancellations

STUDENT-ACCOMMODATION-MADRID offers you a variety of easy and convenient payment methods, depending on your length of stay and type of accommodation selected during your time in Madrid. This page also informs you about our deposits and cancellation conditions.

Payment Methods

NOTE: Please clearly indicate your name on the bank transfer, and fax us a copy of the receipt, so that we can confirm your reservation.

STUDENT-ACCOMMODATION-MADRID accepts no responsibility for any bank transfer charges.  Any extra charges need to be settled at your end of the transaction; please inform the bank of this when making your payment.

2.  Debit/Credit Card: 

Please either call or email Student Accommodation Madrid with the following details:
        - The 16 digit Visa / MasterCard card number
        - The security code (the last three digits on the back of the card)
        - The expiry date of the card (month and year)

* NOTE: The amount deducted will include 2% bank charges. All details will be destroyed after the transaction.


Payment Timescales

Reservations for a period of 4 weeks or less - In order to confirm the reservation, the total amount due must be paid in full upon reservation.

Reservations for periods of 4 weeks or more - Payment must be made on a monthly basis, in advanced and in accord with the payment schedule indicated on the invoice.

 *NOTE:  The booking is effective only when we receive a proof of payment or the payment itself.

Deposit pay-back:

The deposit will be returned by bank transfer within 7 days after the departure, upon receipt of the keys, after the inspection of the room, if the room is left in the same state as it was found on arrival and if the resident has not caused any annoyance to the neighbours or the other residents during his stay.

The resident has to provide his bank details (Name of the account holder, IBAN, SWIFT / BIC) within one month after the departure. If the bank details are not provided in time, the deposit will be retained.

If rent for the period of stay is not paid, this will be retained from the depsoit



 

Cancellations

Cancellation before occupancy

If the host family or shared flat reservation is cancelled before arrival, the deposit will be refunded at the rates indicated below:

Less than 7 days	Full deposit retained
Between 7 days and 14 days	25% of deposit returned
Between 15 days and 30 days	50% of deposit returned
More than 30 days notice	Full deposit returned

Please note that if the stay in a student residence reservation is cancelled, the deposit will be retained in all cases.


Cancellation during occupancy 

If the student decides to leave the accommodation (host family / shared apartment) before the end of the contractual period (the contractual period is the period stated in the contract or confirmed by email), the amount to be refunded is determined by the length of the stay:

-       Stays of less than 4 weeks: payment retained in full, deposit returned in full.

-       Stays of more than 4 weeks: payment is due until the last day of the month. A part of the deposit is retained at the rates indicated below:

Less than 7 days	Full deposit retained
Between 7 days and 14 days	25% of deposit returned
Between 15 days and 30 days	50% of deposit returned
More than 30 days notice	Full deposit refund

Please note that if a student residence reservation is cancelled, the month deposit will be retained in all cases.
